The Fall in Michigan is a beautiful time of year! The leaves are all different colors and the brightest yellow, orange and red that you can imagine! The smell of fall is in the cool crisp air.:) Many people are celebrating the season with visits to the cider mill, going to the pumpkin patch and having bonfires. It is also the time of year for the fall color runs and rides:)

I decided to do a ride today that was to raise money for my friend Amy and her journey back to health. It was with a few friends and my husband…this was supposed to be an easy ride on mountain bikes to enjoy the scenery and still get a great workout in since it was 40 miles on the hilly backroads:) Well..I was in for a surprise when it ended up to be a hammerfest! Yikes! I ended up slowing down a lot and doing my own ride which was great!

After all these years of racing I have learned that there is a time and place to go hard and doing a long ride 4 weeks before Ironman #11 is not that day:) So, I did enjoy the fall colors and the scenery and got an amazing workout. It was a very hilly, cold ride. It was a fun day and great to be out there thinking of Amy and enjoying the fall! Only 4 weeks to go:) Yessss!!!
