Psychology of Sport (and Michael Phelps)

There has been so much negative chatter and/or disappointment regarding Michael Phelps’ London Olympics performances so far. Up until tunes changed last night when he won his 19th career Olympic medal, all I kept hearing about was “where is the Phelps from Beijing? When will he show up?”

Truth is, athletes are fallible. Even Phelps, winner of 8 gold medals from ’08.

I read an article last night that expressed what’s going on – where that Phelps is and why - better than I ever could, so I wanted to share:

A great read.
