MI TI Iron Distance #10!!
I decided to do a first year Iron Distance race in the town that I lived in for 10 years,,,and it turned out to be a great choice.
The swim was in a beautiful little lake and we had to do 2 loops, it went well and I was 2nd out of the water behind my friend Deb. She is awesome and has now won 9 Iron Distance races this year. I felt good and just kept a steady pace.
The bike ride was a lot harder than I thought it would be. It was very hilly, windy and hot out there. I really just wanted the hills to be over with.
I was so happy to get off the bike and run:) It took me awhile to get my legs back due to the hard bike course. I just told myself to get it together and keep running strong:) I made the half turn a lot sooner than normal and I was able to keep my run strong the entire time. My calf muscles were burning but I just kept running:)
I finished my 10th Ironman in 3rd overall female with my best time ever! I finally hit my goal of under 13 hours! I did 12 hours and 46 minutes..it was awesome!!
Thank you Ice.:)
