Do you accept the challenge?
As August comes to a close, many are thinking about September. How will you challenge yourself? Work out harder? Run longer? Increase the intensity? Run faster?
The MarathonTALK crew, from across the pond, has issued a challenge and Bring Back the Mile has accepted. There is no argument that America’s distance, the Mile, is the most iconic distance. I didn’t witness Roger Bannister’s epic sub-4 minute Mile feat, but I’ve read about it and watched it happen. It’s time to run that Magic Mile and prove to Team UK (MarathonTALK) and Team Rest of the World (The Naked Runners) why this is our distance.
The Olympics are over, but the spirit never dies. Here is a chance to compete for your country. After celebrating Labor Day, run one Mile from September 3-16. You don’t have to run at a one-Mile race, although that would suffice. Run alone or in a group. It would be a neat way for running clubs and groups to add a spark to training sessions. Whatever you do, have fun with it. Don’t forget to submit your results by Monday, September 17 at 7:00 PM EST.
Register here to participate. While you’re at it, let everyone know how you plan to ROCK the Mile by taking the MARATHON® Bar pledge on Facebook! If you talk about it on Twitter use the official hashtag: #signupforfast or #MagicMile I’ll be lurking and engaging on both social media sites. Come find me @absolut_zer0!
The ICEdot Crash Sensor attaches to a helmet and notifies emergency contacts of a crash and your location. Be the first to own one. Sign up for our Crash Sensor newsletter and we'll email you when it's ready to purchase.
